Happy Thanksgiving

Hi, guys.

I hope you are having a great Thanksgiving and beginning to get your ducks in a row for exams.

Here’s the work we have remaining in the semester:

1) Continue work reading Unbowed. Expect 1 or 2 more reading quizzes before the term is over. We won’t finish the book before Christmas, but the portions we’ve read will be on the exam.

2) Grammar work on phrases and clauses. We’ll review the parts of the sentence and add one more grammar chapter before the exam. You will have a short quiz on the new material before the mid-term exam.

3) One more chapter of vocabulary. We’ll work through lesson 20 this coming week. We won’t have a quiz on lesson 20, but you will have an end of term vocab test in the week of December 7-11.

4) Discussion, practice, and writing on the topic of theme in preparation for essay on mid-term relating to theme. On the mid-term, you will read a short piece and be required to write a 3-5 paragraph essay on theme.

5) Review and preparation for mid-term. See wiki outline of material on the test. Work together to build this resource or copy and paste it into your own notes and build your personal review.

Be sure to schedule time for extra help if you need it. I am available each morning from 7-8 a.m. and each afternoon from 3-4 p.m.
